CAREER TRANSITIONS: The unemployable "curse" is broken
Yay! Friday, the 28th of April, 2006 -- I got my first "job" with someone I didn't know who paid me by the hour (a whopping $10/hr and glad to get it! Although down a bit from the $120,000.00 a year gig I was used to!) I made $50 gross and will probably be able, at today's prices, to pay for 3/4 of a tank of gasoline! Thanks to G.R. at Personnel Source (temp agency) and to Medical Weight Loss Centers of Oregon. It was a great atmosphere with a brand new company that is going to go places if the working environs and the folks therein generating same are any indication. I got to have my "ice cold, after-work beer" and it has not tasted so good in many years.
Thanks to all for the change in state and keep your fingers crossed that I continue to get work more than $50 every six months (I'm dealing with losing my residence, phone, medications, etc., as it is, but that's another story -- q.v.)
PS -- I need to gain some expertise in microsoft word! No one except lawyers seem use wordperfect which, of course, is my wordprocessor of choice.
