BEING A FATHER TO A DAUGHTER - RE-ENERGIZING

My 14 year old has been staying with me (week three ends sunday) and she is so precious. Intelligent, beautiful, curious, vulnerable yet "cool" like a teen. Having her to watch out for has changed my life. My perspective is totally shifted. Nothing else really is as important as watching her learn, grow and blossom. Wow, what a gift she is. And she doesn't even know that she gives this energy to people wherever she goes. She is loved by all she meets. She is very special and her mother has always said that. I thought it was just a mother's prejudice but it's not. This person is very, very special. I'm blessed to have her in my life and it changes everything. More later.

I CAN'T WAIT TIL WE GET BACK TO 'THAT'

MY EX came by today after a week of not seeing each other -- today is the 10 month anniversary of her last 'departure' from the cohabitation arrangement to go rent a room from a girlfriend of hers.

It's challenging. We attempt to be somewhat affectionate. She calls me her boyfriend. But, after being lovers for years, and then not being lovers of 18 months (at her request, not mine), I find old habits die hard.

Also, now that we've been broken up for so long, I wonder why we even see each other any more (it was her idea at first, even though she broke up with me, in her mind at least. She said she couldn't handle total no-contact all at once.)

This is at my emotional expense now. It's difficult when she grabs my butt (forgot how long it's been and how great it feels!), hugs me, kisses me and then stops and says "I can't wait til we get back to that."

If that's true, I'm not stoppin you.

I think someone is pissing on my back and telling me it's raining.

I also thought the name of this site was, "Now That We Know . . ." It appears someone (me?) hasn't learned after all.

My 'horror-scope' says 'Out with the old, in with the new. There's a rumor that you are maintaining certain ties and affiliations that are as old as Geo Washington's dentures.' Coinky-dink? I dun think so!
